Sri Lanka Unites

The Sri Lanka Unites envisions to unite the youth of all ethnic and religious groups across Sri Lanka in a movement that provides hope and reconciliation which leads to creating a peaceful and a prosperous nation for future generations.

 

The Sri Lanka Unites club of St. Peter’s College, commenced the year with the election of Office Bearers.

The year commenced with the AGM at which the Master in charge Mr. Gihan Alwis constantly reminded the members the need to be vigilant in to discourage any form of division based on ethnicity or religion within the socity.

 

The Sri lanka Unites club intends on having upcoming projects such as workshops based on racial discrimination for students in the college section. Further we also plan on having fundraisers such as bookmarks and keytags as well.

 

A new batch of students joined the club with the aid of the Sri Lanka Unites Future Leaders Conferences Seasons 7 held in Badulla. Three energetic “Unites” were sent for a four day training programme in leadership for promoting hope and reconciliation in the modern world. This new vigorous  members revitalized the club. The members also participated in SLU days organized by vigorous members revitalized the club. The members also participated in SLU days organized by leading educational institutes showcasing their strength and capabilities as a movement and as a school assuring the hope of contributing even more greater for the sake of the future generations.

 

We sincerely thank Mr. Gihan Alwis, the Master- in- charge for all the support and guidance offered towards the Sri Lanka Unites of St. Peter’s College.
