On the 1 st of February 2019, the 80th annual athletic meet of St. Peter’s College was held in a glorious fashion in the College Grounds after the opening of the newly constructed Fr. Joe Wickremasinghe pavilion. This was a great opportunity for the students to show their talents in athletics, both track an field. Major General Palitha Fernando, the president of the Athletics Association of Sri Lanka, graced this occasion as the chief guest.

The final standings were as follows - 1. Anthony House 2. Arthur House 3. Nicholas House 4. Peter House 5. Maurice House 6. Basil House

Anthony House gained 1 st place for the 4 th time in a row. Arthur house also won the march past and best house decorations.

Besides the athletic events, a spectacular taekwondo demonstration was presented in the interval for all those assembled and was enjoyed by everybody.

The opening and closing ceremonies were held in a grand fashion at the Athletic meet, with a guard of honor for the Rector and the chief guest at the end of the days events.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of our Rector, Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin, the sports coordinator, Rev. Fr. Thilina Pathum, the Sports Board, and all those involved to make it a success.
