PETERITES CROWNED THE KING OF ATHLETICS!

There has been a renaissance in Athletics at St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 which has created National history by winning all the National Awards offered in the National Inter School level Athletics for the calendar year 2018.

The barrage of winning started when they were placed as Overall Champions in the Saints' Quadrangular Athletic Championship. They went on to clinch convincingly the Overall Championship in the Western Province Schools Athletic Meet. The formidable Peterite Athletes created history when they coveted the prestigious Overall Championship in the much competitive All Island Schools Relay Carnival. This winning streak continued when they clinched the Overall Championship of the Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic Championship. Peterite Athletes were unbeatable as they went on to win the Overall Championship in the All Island School Games Athletic Championship. To top it all, the Peterite Athletes were crowned as the King of Athletics when they coveted the Sir John Tarbet Junior School Athletic Championship.

Peterite Athletes rewrote the history at the Saints' Quadrangular Athletic Meet 2018.

St. Anthony's College, Kandy was placed 4th with 241 points.

St. Joseph's College, Colombo 10 was placed 3rd with 292 points.

St. Benedict's College, Colombo 13 was placed 2nd with 301 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 coveted the Overall Championship with 590 points.

The Peterite Athletes conquered indomitable heights at the Western Province Schools Athletic Meet 2018.

Royal College, Colombo 07 was placed 4th with 115 points.

Lyceum International School, Wattala was placed 3rd with 125 points.

Maris Stella College, Negombo was placed 2nd with 138 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 clinched the Overall Championship with 222 points.

The Peterite Athletes made an incredible achievement at the All Island Schools Relay Carnival 2018.

Walala Rathnayake Vidyalaya was placed 4th with 46 points.

Maris Stella College, Negombo was placed 3rd with 55 points.

Royal College, Colombo 07 was placed 2nd with 79 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 emerged as the Overall Champions with 118 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 stamped their indelible imprint at the Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic Championship 2018.

Royal College, Colombo 07 was placed 3rd with 107 points.

Maris Stella College, Negombo was placed 2nd with 115 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 clinched the Overall Championship with 206 points.

Peterite Athletes made their unbeatable presence strongly felt at the All Island School Games Athletic Championship 2018.

Walala Rathnayake Vidyalaya was placed 3rd with 76 points.

Maris Stella College, Negombo was placed 2nd with 88 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 coveted the Overall Championship with 165 points.

The Peterite athletes with their excellent performance at the Sir John Tarbet Junior School Athletic Championship 2018 were crowned as the king of Athletics.

Royal College, Colombo 07 was placed 3rd with 44 points.

St. Joseph's College, Colombo 10 was placed 2nd with 79 points.

St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 emerged as the Overall Champions with 84 points.

No other school in Sri Lanka in the recent history has made such a stupendous achievement, just in a year. Meets were back to back. It was a massive test of endurance, stamina, fitness, will power and finally the courage, determination and sheer grit to win and bring glory and honour to their 'Alma Mater' passionately and indomitably guided the Peterite Athletes to create history.

An achievement of this magnitude and proportion wouldn't have been possible without the massive investment of time, energy and resources of many.

Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin, the Rector of St. Peter's College, Colombo 04 expressed his sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. Thilina Pathum the Sports Co-ordinator, Mr. Sanath Chinthaka the Sports Secretary, Mr. Priyadarshana Cooray the Master in Charge, Mr. Jude Danushka Thirimanne the Assistant Master in Charge for selflessly contributing in an incalculable manner for the success story of Peterite Athletics.

Rev. Fr. Rector overwhelmingly thanked Mr. I. D. Premasiri, the Head Coach of Athletics, who is the Chief Architect behind the renaissance of Athletics at St. Peter's College, Mr. Tony Prasanna the Throwing Coach, Mr. Y. K. Kularatne the Jumping Coach and Mr. Lakmal Anurudha the Junior Coach for working without counting the cost in producing an unconquerable Team of Athletes at St. Peter's College, Colombo 04.

Rev. Fr. Rector expressed his sincere gratitude to the members of the Track and Field Foundation of St. Peter's College, the Old Peterites and the parents of the Athletes for the continuous unstinted support and cooperation extended towards the incredible performance of the Peterite Athletes.

Rev. Fr. Trevor Martin, the Rector of St. Peter's College profusely thanked and congratulated the Peterite Athletes for bringing indelible glory and honour to their 'Alma Mater'.

Rev. Fr. Rector, also in a special way thanked God our loving Father, Mary our Blessed Mother and Saint Peter our Patron Saint for showering upon all at St. Peter's College countless blessings and immense graces.
