First Holy Communion Service 2017

The First Holy Communion Mass of St. Peter’s College was held at a beautifully decorated Nicholas Perera Memorial Hall on Saturday,October 7th.

Since it is not an easy task to provide seating arrangements for 750 people in the college chapel, the service took place in the Nicholas Perera Memorial Hall which was transformed into a beautiful church.

Two hundred and forty-eight young Peterites received Lord Jesus for the first time at a very meaningful Holy Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Rector, Fr. Trevor Martin.

Sixteen priests graced the occasion, while Rev. Fr. Anthony Samaratunga conducted a very meaningful sermon highlighting the importance of receiving Jesus into the lives of these young Peterites.

The First Holy Communion Celebration is recognized as a red-letter day in the school calendar. Rev. Fr. Samith Rangana Fernando, the principal of the primary and the vice-rector organized this event and all who witnessed it praised the efforts taken by the school to glorify the Lord our God.
